Terms & Conditions

When hiring goods and services from La Vie Boheme you are agreeing to abide by the following terms and conditions:

Prop Hire

Hire Period

  • The hire period is for 1–3 days. This encompasses the delivery, event and collection day. Longer hire periods can be arranged and must be agreed in writing by La Vie Boheme. Items retained for a longer period without prior agreement will be charged at 100% of the hire fee per day.

  • A printed inventory of hired items will be signed by the hirer at the point of delivery and collection.

  • Amendments to orders can be made up to 7 days prior to collection or delivery, subject to availability.

  • We will do our best to accommodate requests for additional items once the final balance is paid. However availability cannot be guaranteed. Reductions cannot be made once final payment has been processed. 

  • La Vie Boheme accepts no responsibility in the event of any injury or damages caused by the hired goods.

Delivery & Collection

  • Delivery and collection costs are included with all our hire packages  if your chosen venue is within 50 miles of  our base in Aldershot, Hampshire in accordance with our delivery border which can be viewed here:   DELIVERY BORDER MAP 

  • Please note: delivery charge will apply for distances outside of the 50 mile radius

  • Deliveries and collections are arranged Mon – Sun. Dates and times will be confirmed by La Vie Boheme upon confirmation of the order. On site contact details must be supplied to La Vie Boheme for all delivery & collection orders.

Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking.

  • The remaining balance is then paid in two installments - the first, four months prior to the date of hire. The second, no later than 30 days prior to the date of hire.

  • Payment can be made before these dates if desired.

  • Payment is made via bank transfer.

Cancellation

  • Cancellation of the total hire order must be made via email and the following will apply:

  • The deposit will not be refundable

  • Any payments made for any hires or services on or before the cancellation date will not be refundable.

Damage Deposit

  • A separate refundable damage deposit of £250 is payable no later than seven days prior to the date of hire. 

  • The client is liable for any damages to all hired props and equipment so please take care.

  • Very minor scuffs may be overlooked. Any damage requiring time to fix will forfeit part, if not all of the damage deposit

  • The assessment of any damage is at our discretion at La Vie Boheme.

  • In the event of there being no damage to any of the hired props or equipment, the damage deposit will be returned via bank transfer within 48 hours of the return of goods. 

Condition of Goods

  • Items supplied by La Vie Boheme will be, in our opinion, in good vintage condition.

  • All goods should be checked against the delivery note and signed for by the hirer upon receipt.

  • If no one is available to sign for receipt of the goods then this will be at the hirers own risk and will be deemed as being delivered in clean and undamaged condition. If deliveries are left at unattended premises this is at the hirers risk.

  • In the event of any shortage or damage, the hirer shall note this on the delivery note upon receipt of goods. No discrepancies or damages will be accepted unless La Vie Boheme is notified within 12 hours of delivery.

  • During the hire period breakages or loss of any item is the full responsibility of the hirer until received back and checked by La Vie Boheme. The client will be notified within 48 hours of recorded loss or damage.

  • Items remain the property of La Vie Boheme at all times during the hire period

Crockery Hire

Hire Period

  • Due to the nature of vintage china, we cannot guarantee large quantities of one style or one particular colour.

  • A printed inventory of hired items will be signed by the hirer at the point of delivery and collection.

  • Amendments to orders can be made up to 7 days prior to collection or delivery, subject to availability.

  • We will do our best to accommodate requests for additional items once the final balance is paid. However availability cannot be guaranteed. Reductions cannot be made once final payment has been processed. 

  • La Vie Boheme accepts no responsibility in the event of any injury or damages caused by the hired goods.

  • Goods for collection must be clean and repacked safely in their original packaging.

  • If items have not been suitably cleaned or packed for collection and transit then La Vie Boheme reserves the right to charge the client at 10% of the total hire cost.

Cleaning the Crockery

  • All goods received by the hirer will be clean and ready for use.

  • All crockery supplied by La Vie Boheme must be hand washed. Items are not suitable for dishwashers or microwaves.

  • Where items are returned unwashed without prior agreement, a washing up charge of 15% of the total hire cost will be made.

  • A washing up service is available at 15% of the total hire order. In this instance all plates must be scraped and cups, pots, jugs and tea pots emptied

Payment

Damage Deposit

  • The client is liable for any damages, cracks, chips of crockery and/or loss of any goods and will be charged at the following cost:

  • Teacup, saucer, side plate, sugar bowl and milk jugs - £10 each

  • Tea/Coffee Pot - £35 each

  • Tiered Cake Stand - £35 each

  • Large sandwich platters, cake plates - £15 each

  • All other items at our discretion

  • The damage deposit will be returned via bank transfer within 48 hours of the return of goods. 

Condition of Goods

  • Items supplied by La Vie Boheme will be, in our opinion, in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. However it can be expected that some of the patterns, gilt and silver plating will show signs of wear.

  • Vintage items are fragile and much more easily prone to damage than commercial catering crockery. Please ensure you take extra care when handling, cleaning and packing the items.

  • All goods should be checked against the delivery note and signed for by the hirer upon receipt.

  • If no one is available to sign for receipt of the goods then this will be at the hirers own risk and will be deemed as being delivered in clean and undamaged condition. If deliveries are left at unattended premises this is at the hirers risk.
